Paint Technology : completion of the first course

Jul 14, 2021 | IoCT News

The first training cycle in Paint Technology has been completed. The training was based on the Mixed Learning model: distance learning and cources at the new IoCT training facilities in the center of Athens. The course started with a 4-hour seminar on Health and Safety (risk identification at work, use of PPE, etc.). Then the basics of paint were analyzed: types and composition of paints (resins, pigments, additives, fillers), physicochemical properties, principles of colorimetry, quality control tools, etc. Training sessions made for the 3 basic surfaces to be painted (cementitious surfaces, wood, metal) with theoretical and practical part. A practical application was made on an industrial scale (airless, conventional, airless battery spray guns, etc.) in the facilities of the company A. Zisimopoulos SA. A lesson was devoted to the styles focusing on new complex wall decoration techniques (use of stencil, formwork in cement, copper and metals, rust, etc.). Extensive reference was then made to the Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets for the correct and safe use of the products. At the end of the lessons, the main failures were presented and categorized, while real failures were discussed and methods for solving them were proposed.

All the meetings were conducted in compliance with all necessary health and safety measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The effort was supported with enthusiasm and passion by the educational team: Euripidis Tsaousoglou, Dimitris Kokkonis, Petros Moschidis, George Tsiniarakis & George Geroukis.
We would like to thank all the participants: Julio Karai, Anastasios Kikidis, Stavros Krokos, Stefania Mavrommati, Vangelis Skevis and Grigoris Chronopoulos

We warmly thank all the companies and all the people who supported us.
