We are proud to announce that we are an Organizational Member of ASTM International, a global organization that develops and publishes technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services. IoCT participates on the technical committee «D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications».
The primary goal of ASTM is to improve the lives of millions each day through innovative business services, enhanced performance, and a deep understanding of commercial needs and consumer priorities. ASTM International utilizes the expertise of over 30,000 members from 140 countries and currently maintains more than 12,500 global standards and 120 years of operation.
The scope of the «D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications» technical committee is the development of test methods, definitions, practices, specifications, classifications, guides, and related knowledge for:
(1) paint, varnish, lacquer, printing ink and other related coatings and materials in liquid, liquefiable, powder, or mastic form,
(2) components therof,
(3) preparation of surfaces to which such coatings are applied
(4) coating-substrate systems, and
(5) paint application tools.
IoCT as an organizational member of ASTM will work hard to update the old standards, develop and implement new standards to fulfil the needs of the paints and coatings Greek market.
