The IoCT participated in the 1st Building Material Show which was successfully organized at the OAKA cycling track. The event took place on September 23 and 24 and a large number of visitors toured the exhibition grounds. The IoCT team was there to discuss, inform and exchange views with industry professionals, partners, friends and other stakeholders.
More specifically, the visitors were informed about the current and very successful “Coating Application Specialist” and “Coatings Technology” training programs. The Coating Application Specialist training is aimed at professionals who want to modernize and complete their knowledge, as well as perfect their technique in the preparation of surfaces to be painted and the application of color, while emphasizing modern environmental requirements and health and security.
By acquiring the knowledge and skills, interested parties can certify their skills based on the international standard ISO/IEC 17024 in the specialty “Coating Application Specialist” by the accredited body TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS, in a program created in collaboration with the Institute.
The training in Coatings Technology is an educational tool addressed to all professionals in the sector who are directly or indirectly related to color and its application. Architects, civil engineers, chemists, chemical engineers, executives of companies, industries and paint shops have already successfully attended this specific program.
Apart from these programs, the visitors showed great interest in the new and innovative actions of the Institute. One of them is the design and implementation of environmental product declarations (EPD). EPDs issued by the Institute meet all requirements for LEED, BREEAM, Zero Carbon Challenge, Living Building Challenge and other international and European assessments.
Engineers, technicians and painters dealing with industrial paints were informed about the FROSIO training and certification system. The Institute, in collaboration with the international educational organization Paint-Inspector.Com (PIC), organizes this specific program every year in Greece. FROSIO is an internationally recognized training and certification system for coating inspectors.
The presentation by the IoCT team of the new acquisition Virtual Reality Spray was a point of intense interest and all visitors were excited to use the innovative paint simulator. The Institute is honored to be the exclusive distributor of the Skillveri Metaverse & XR Simulations simulator in Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Turkey. With the paint simulators, both the Institute and the companies that will choose it, upgrade and modernize the way of training the painters.
Finally, the pleasant surprise that awaited the visitors was the announcement of the collaboration with the TaMastoria.gr platform, a specialized platform for professional craftsmen in the construction field. Both the Institute and the managers of the platform invest in the continuous training and updating of professionals in the sector.
Active participation, discussions and encouraging responses from visitors demonstrate the value of the Institute’s efforts to promote knowledge, expertise and innovation in the paints and coatings industry.
